Our company recently decided to look for another solution for our PDF needs. Our previous software worked very well but the new licensing model that company decided to use did not fit well with our IT staff so we all agreed to find another product that would make this easier. We tried PDF-XCHANGE. This product may not be as pretty as the previous company, but the licensing is easier and the product itself out performs the previous brand by a lot. We couldn't be happier.

I like that it is a full-featured product for a reasonable cost ... without locking a person into an unwanted subscription. Subscriptions might work for some, but I will always choose to 'own' my software and upgrade it as necessary.

It is clearly a very well engineered piece of software, and better value than other options. My one niche request would be to improve the legibility of the javascript editor in dark mode. The dark blue and dark red are especially hard to read against the grey background.

I really like using PDF XChange Editor to work directly on PDF documents, especially to insert pages from other documents, duplicate pages to put comments linked to layers, etc. It's a program with a wide range of features. My only regret is that I should have bought a PDF XChange Editor Plus license right away to be able to use the features for Forms and the improved Character Recognition.

I researched an alternative to Adobe Acrobat that had an OCR function. I was most impressed with the reviews of PDF-XChange Editor. I downloaded the free version and was quite impressed. Just to ensure I had the best OCR 'engine', I purchased the mid-level version. I am very pleased! I can scan directly from the application, and then run OCR as my scanner skews pages a bit. As with any new application, there are new menu options, etc., but I am able to search for desired functions without difficulty. In addition to scanning, I often merge files or delete pages, and these are supported. I highly recommend this product.
