I researched alternatives to Adobe to create and edit pdf documents. I then tried the free versions of a half dozen programs that seemed to be at the top of the list. A couple stood out; but for the price, especially for a small number of licenses, PDF-Xchange Editor Plus rose to the top. Another plus was that the support personnel were very responsive by email. I always got a response within hours, not days like some of the other companies.

Likes . Software is very smooth. I use it to view PDF CAD drawings and zooming in, out and panning is smooth than any PDF software. . I like the interface and features overall although I haven't explored most of them. Dislikes . Convert from text files only shows plain (.text) format so converting (.doc)files is not straight forward although possible if found alternative way. . The layers view options doesn't pop out automatically when you view a documents that have layers. I had to type layers on quick launch to get layers views.

I have been using the free version for about 2 years. After thoroughly testing the product I decided to purchase the paid version due to wanting to use more and more advanced features. In particular creating fillable forms is a huge benefit to my small company. Very easy to use and the printer lite included with the package to enable directly printing to a PDF is way better than the free microsoft version. One aspect I would like is the ability to sync settings and signatures etc to a cloud based server to enable streamlined initial setup when using a different pc.

I like it very much . As a Quantity Surveyor I find it very useful for measure drawings (Architects , Structural Engineers ) etc . I am giving it 5 stars as it is far better than more expensive packages. One thing I have to do as a QS , is measure cut and fill excavations on building sites. I am fairly new to XChange Editor , so you may already have this facility - but it would be great if you could mark / allocate X and Y co-ordinates on to the existing levels on 2 seperate drawings ( eg one drawing has existing levels, the other has finished levels) and then import them into a spreadsheet ?

Since buying your product I have spent some time learning how to get the most out of it. I used an old version of the free PDF reader and found it very good. I finally decided to upgrade to the modern full program. It justified the cost straight away, fast to open documents, easy to create documents just the way I want them. Every day I find a new functionality that enhances its utility. The manual is extremely useful ( still working my way through it) . The only thing that I should have done is purchase the extra add on so that I could use some of the extra form functionality. I don't know whether this will affect me yet as I don't need the form generation yet. Thanks for a great program.

First, allow me to make a list of my dislikes: That list does not exist. Now for my list of likes: 1. PDFs load fast. 2. Adding text (using the "Add Text" menu) is terrific. The placement of the text is accurate and easy to move where you want it in the document. 3. The "Flatten" command is easily accessible and can be applied quickly, especially before saving the document. 4. I do a lot of piano music score editing. The essential movement of pages (deleting a page, extracting a page, pasting a page into a new position) is smooth and easy. I could go on, but I have not found one deal breaker with purchasing and using PDF-XChange Editor. Give it a try and within a week you will be using it exclusively.

Jen mne trochu mrzí, že i když označím/zatrhnu v dialogovém okně Ořezu "Odstranit obsah vně ořezového rámečku", musím pak u každého výkresuještě ručně "Odstranit oříznutý obsah". I am very satisfied that it can rotate and crop PDF documents. I'm just a little sorry that even if I select / check "Delete content outside the clipping box" in the Crop dialog box, I still have to manually "Delete cropped content" for each drawing.

Two features that weren't available in the previous version I had and I have now are: - The comments font type, size, etc. can be selected and it will remain. In my previous software version I had to select the font every single time I started the program and wante to typewrite a comment; - The comments can now be easily displayed in a list and either being checked one by one or deleted all at once. Extremely handy when you want to share a pdf you've made comments on but you don't want to share those for multiple reasons. It wasn't available on my previous version and it now is. Still trying to get used to the new disposition of the menu, I'm finding myself doing more clicks for the same job but I guess it's a matter of getting used to it. I haven't checked if I can configure the dashboard myself though, I just upgraded to the new version. That might be a good feature if not there yet. Congratulations for your product, I'm finding it extremely useful and I have actually recommended my previous version to some colleagues, therefore I will not hesitate in continuing doing so in the future as this new one has improved substantially, in my opinion. Perhaps (just thinking), it could be an additional improvement if the outlook email account could be configured so the pdf can be emailed to someone by just clicking on the typical envelope icon which opens an email with the file in it (after a warning message to save the file so the latest changes are included?) so you just need to write the recipient's email address? Not that I do it all the time but when you open several (sometimes too many) files, generally drawings, etc. trying to find which one is the right one you need to email to someone, it would make it easier once you've found it just click on the email icon and send it straight through (preferably after checking it has no comments on it, etc.). I can't think of any other feature at the moment, I remember having some headaches when trying to change the text in a pdf by using Adobe Creator but I haven't tried with this one yet. Best regards

I found it a very easy program to use with many features. I like the Xchange light printer, with the increasing number of accounts, that are paid on line, using Xchange light printing PDF to file, saves ink and paper. Recently I have started to scan many of my old documents and memorabilia to PDF format. some of the old documents have wear marks fold marks etc. Has "PDF Tools" an erase feature for removing blemishes. thank you John

I am happy to write a review, because I am totally enthusiastic about PDF-XChange. I work as a proofreader and editor and have been using the program for many years. I have been working with the PDF format since about 1993 and until recently I thought there was no way around Adobe Acrobat (Standard and Pro). But as it turned out while working with PDF-XChange, it offers the following advantages over the top dog Acrobat: - it is much clearer and more intuitive to use, - the comment function is more sophisticated, - Stamps can be imported in batch mode (important for loading standardized correction signs), - I can access all functions from outside by using macro programs like MacroExpress (works with Acrobat only to a certain degree), - it is cheaper than Acrobat, - it is possible to convince other people to buy the program, among other things because of the low costs. This ensures that everyone involved in a project works with a professional program and not just a Reader. The current version of PDF-XChange has caught up with Acrobat in three essential points: - All commentary tools that Acrobat offers are now available. - Files can be saved in an optimized, i.e. compressed version. This is one of the first measures to be taken for PDF files coming from graphic designers, because for commenting (i.e. adding correction notes), a print-ready PDF file in high resolution is not required, but one with the lowest possible resolution. Being able to reduce the resolution and thus the file size makes you independent of the creator and thus increases effectiveness. - Pages can now be enlarged directly. This is a crucial point for making it easier to add correction comments. For example, you no longer have to print in A3 format and then use the OCR function to have enough space to add comments. This means that direct page magnification also helps to increase efficiency. PDF-XChange is the ideal PDF program for my profession. It not only offers all the essential functions, but is 100% compatible with Acrobat. Especially in terms of compatibility, some other PDF programs that have a similarly good commentary function fail. Without compatibility, however, no professional data exchange is possible.

I'm really satisfied with PDF-XCHANGE Editor. It has been a game-changer in the way I manipulate my PDF. Much faster and comfortable to use than the other ones I have used. Two things I would like to be added in the software: 1) the ability to navigate to an exact place in the scrollbar by right-clicking it with the mouse (there is already a ticket opened for it #5303) 2) 2.1) A way to show/hide the scrollbar without having to go full-screen mode or 2.2) A way to change the location of the scrollbar (i know there is already a ticket opened for it that concern the 2.1) - #5223) either way, I'm very happy with my purchase and the support has been really attentive to me. My pre-purchase support questions and concerns were addressed in a timely fashion by your staff and helped me confidently purchase your software. The program has exceeded my expectations! So far I guess that I've used the more basic functions & all is good. I'll explore additional features as the need arises. I'm still "feeling" my way around the program and when I can't seem to locate the information/direction from the support documentation, my support tickets have been responded to in a timely fashion (very refreshing!). The program loads faster than any other PDF program that I have used. I think that the online manual is slightly out of sync with the actual version I'm working with and maybe that has been resulting in my need for technical support. I like to think that I'm somewhat of a techie as I generally can find my way around without needing to enlist the support staff. Speaking of the support staff, they have been unbelievable! I've posted support requests at very late hours and when I wake up in the morning the answer is sitting in my inbox. One last comment, I'm not 100% clear on what the add-on purchase in my "cart" entitles me to and if that is ultimately a renewable option ( I think I purchased the 3 year option). If it is renewable should I expect some sort of notification from yourselves. Thanks for making my life interacting with PDF'S a lot less stressful. Jeff

First impressions / review: Since i was used to Adobe XI, there was a learning curve on how to do things with this program. The steps to get a signature set up were very clearly laid out, and the features to manipulate the PDF files are quite extensive (seemingly more than Adobe XI and easily comparable to Foxit v7). The support staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to reply in the right amount of detail. The purchase price is definitely worth it!!! If it's possible, i'll add to this review after a few weeks of regular use.

Not a big fan of the new ribbon tab, but I've been trying to get used to it. It is not intuitive. (I also hate the tabs in microsoft office)

Fantastic software! I am amazed at all the PDF features it includes at such a reasonable price. PDF-XChange Editor has greatly enhanced the convenience and power of my home office. I have used the free PDF XChange Viewer for years, and grateful to Tracker Software for making it available. But I had no idea of what I was missing, and assumed the only way to get "premium" features would be to buy a very expensive Adobe product. Not so. This is powerful, full-featured, and runs well on my NUC mini desktop PC, and on my laptop.

I have been using the tracker pdf software products for many years but mostly the free version which worked great for my needs. Lately I have a need to compile individual pdf files into one combined file to ease the printing process. I looked around for a product and then realized that Tracker likely has a product to do that plus more. I checked their website and sure enough PDF-XChange Editor suits my needs and adds many more features as a plus. Cost is reasonable. I have used their support in the past for the free version and found it fast and reliable so why not? I have since used the program several times to combine individual blueprint pages into one file and it is deadly fast, the process is super easy and the result exactly as hoped. Bravo to the design folks at Tracker Software for years of great products.

Hi, I have been using pdf-xchange for the last 3 years. I reason I am using this product is because my company using it. so now I am working at home. I just want to continue it. Overall, It is a decent software but the best. I find the ribbon icons just a bit too big, even though reduce the large icons in options in customize toolbars. they just take up too screen space. It is lot more intuitive compared with its main competitor and has much better command layout and interface. The software is relatively light weight and works speedier compared with industry standard competition. I also benefit from the portable version which allows me not to install it on temporary machines yet enjoy the continuity of work with ease. I often have to compare PDF's and its feature "Active Document to New Vertical Tab Group" becomes very handy. There are, however, two downsides as follows: 1. It misleads by showing that software maintenance period has expired and I have twice renewed it while it was still active 2. If PDF-XChange Editor could make the OCR engine as good as Adobe Professional then there is no going back. I have samples to show OCR by both and although I paid for OCR, the results are not good.

I need to mark-up PDF files in my work for corrections, examples, completed work, etc. and this software has a lot of tools and choices to prepare clear, concise direction and emphasis where needed! And, the ability to add pages to a file, or substitute corrected pages in a set of engineering plan files is beneficial and easy to do. I have used other PDF editors in the past, but, nothing compares with PDF-XChange Editor!! Tracker-Software makes it easy. Their download is quick. Instructions are accurate. I tried many PDF editors and finally found PDF-XChange Editor. We do a lot of forms and PDF-XChange Editor is the ONLY editor that we found most compatible with all the viewers out there. We had numerous problems with form fields not being compatible with certain viewers with forms created using other PDF editors. PDF-XChange does not have any of these issues. Really love it. Now, i have tested any PDF Editors but the XChange Editor is my Favorite Editor to create PDF Documents. I like the great look & feel of the IDE with Ribbonbar and so on. Also the custom change of the Menu Bar is very good to work with this Programm. But only one thing it is that i won't have to use in the Editor - an Table Create Function. I must create Documents with Table Layouts but i must create the Table in the Affinity Publisher and than export to XChange Editor for filling with Text Fields and so on.

I am a long-time, satisfied user Tracker Software. I like its functionality, reliability, and breadth of features. For me, PDF-XChange Editor (OCR) is powerful and easy to use. My sole complaint is with the "front office," so to speak. The marketing tactics for licensing the software is far too complex for my liking. To identify features that are added at each step up the software ladder is to hunt for a needle in a haystack. For example, to get a faster and better OCR conversions, a user must license an enhanced OCR plug-in that is folded into PDF-XChange Editor to produce, voila, "PDF-XChange Editor (OCR)."

This is the best software I have ever used. It's stable smooth and polished. The PDF editing functions I am using -- combining files for Exhibits and Bates-stamping for legal papers -- have been flawless. The interface is brilliant -- intiutive and bullet proof so far. For the low price I am really astounded -- and grateful. Nice job Canada.

i have mainly used it for creating stamps. This process is very clunky with having to use Windows Explorer to relocate a file with an unpronounceable name to desktop and then reversing the process when finished. I am a CAD administrator and I approach programs from the point of view of - "I am now looking at a brand new user interface so how intuitive is it". In your case not very intuitive at all. I would like the ability to have the stamp files located on a central server rather than me having to go to each PC to load them locally. This way I only have to modify one set of files in one place. I think you need more Youtube videos to explain how to use the program. It's the first place I go before going to the help tab. I used your support and they were very fast getting back to - very important.

Adobe Acrobat WAS the standard in PDF Software, but I think we've found a new frontrunner. PDF-XChange Editor is awesome, performing all the duties needed:: Combine Files, Edit Documents, Add Digital Signatures, etc, etc, etc. So if you are tired of paying that outrageous monthly fee for that Adobe app, time to switch over to a new ad fresh PDF App ..... all the Power in one APP!!!

After many years of happy use of the free version, my son recently convinced me to buy the paid version to simplify the process of turning Word documents into .png format for on line posting with an interim .pdf conversion. What a blessing. So I now can continue to use PDF-Xchange as I always have to annotate engineering drawings and to create pdfs for emailing. But the new features are great. Thanks, guys!
