NEW Added an AI Assistant to enhance PDF workflows with AI-powered search, summaries, explanations, and interactive document assistance.
AI Assistant is a new plugin for PDF-XChange Editor that adds a document-aware AI panel to help users understand, summarize, and analyze PDF content more efficiently. Users can ask questions about the currently opened document or choose from a set of ready-made actions, including summaries, simplified explanations, contact information extraction, key date detection, task and deadline extraction, fact listing, inconsistency checks, risk highlighting, and insight or recommendation generation. The Assistant supports OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google AI models and is designed to improve reading, review, research, and information extraction workflows without requiring users to copy document text into an external tool.

Even though the digitalization of documents is standard, many important documents such as contracts are still often archived in paper format due to historical processes/regulations. Some PDF features, such as optional content, annotation flags that control visibility, and JavaScript actions, might change the document appearance in print.
This change means that PDF-XChange Editor will display a notification in the print dialog box when such cases are detected.
