I’ve been really impressed by the swiftness and level of communication from Tracker Software, it’s unusual these days and is appreciated!

We decided to go with you guys after Bluebeam changed their model to a monthly license, tested PDF-XChange and were pleased with both the product and the pricing.

We have been using this software for several years now, for the price I am often surprised by what it can do. For our needs, i.e. the needs of a small business, for which it is expensive to pay overpriced Adobe product licenses, this product is fully sufficient and I can only recommend it with a clear conscience.

I bought PDF-XChange Editor Plus as I had been a user of the free version of PDF XChange for years as it was by far the best OCR software in my experience, easy to use, and loads fast. The reason I bought the Editor Plus version was to be able to use the OCR version that uses all of the CPUs cores (i.e., multi-core OCR software). I was not disappointed. As a comparison, the free version of the OCR (which uses a single core) took 15 - 20 minutes to OCR a 205 page document that was not well-scanned. When I used the Editor Plus version, it took 90 seconds. This was with a Ryzen 7 3700X CPU (8 core, 16 thread) with 32 GB RAM.

It is also very easy to join PDF documents together and apply Bates numbering.

This software more than rivals Adobe and at a far better price than Adobe's ridiculous monthly pricing.

I cannot argue value for money when comparing with other PDF software that I am familiar with, especially given how important fast OCR technology processing needs to be for large PDF files. But if you want fast OCR technology, make sure you have enough RAM, as this software will use all processor cores and for each core it uses about 500MB RAM (I recommend 16 GB RAM minimum if you have a 6 - 8 core multi-threaded CPU). That is not a criticism of the software, as the software is just performing as advertised.

For me it is the ideal program in the office-area for processing PDF documents of all kinds and it makes electronic invoicing to various customers much easier.

For an SMB-size professional firm, the cost of maintaining an Adobe Business contract to satisfy PDF creation needs had become unsustainable. User resistance to change had delayed the decision, but an additional rate increase for this year's contract renewal was the final factor in terminating our subscriptions. On the advice of an IT manager from another organization, I used domain policy to distribute PDF-X Pro to a group of PCs for testing (and later to all PCs) while maintaining our Adobe subscriptions a year ago. The ability to use all the functionality (with watermarked output) on unlicensed installations is an ideal approach and provides an easy means to introduce and test PDF-X as a potential Acrobat Pro replacement. The online documentation was sufficient to get the users acclimated and determine that we could eliminate the Acrobat subscriptions when the renewal came around again this year. I bought a license pack for PDF-XChange Editor Plus and distributed the activation keys (via a simple script) to the existing installations (without reinstalling). There have been a handful of tasks which required some investigation to master, but on the whole, I've had very little resistance from the users about making the transition. While the move has not been effortless, it has been much easier than anticipated and returned considerable savings to my software budget. I fully intend to continue renewing our PDF-X license maintenance and am open to upgrading the license level to PDF-X Pro if the users demonstrate a need for it. The Tracker Software support team was responsive and helpful on the one occasion when I needed some advice. I would have no reservations in recommending the move to PDF-X for other organizations that struggle with the "Adobe Tax" for PDF creation tasks.

I have been using PDF-Xchange Editor for over 15 years. It is an excellent product that provides high-functionality and exceptional value. I highly recommend this product for the creation, editing and management of all PDF files.

Best PDF application available: Efficient, fast, functional, innovative!

I like that it is a full-featured product for a reasonable cost ... without locking a person into an unwanted subscription. Subscriptions might work for some, but I will always choose to 'own' my software and upgrade it as necessary.

I researched an alternative to Adobe Acrobat that had an OCR function. I was most impressed with the reviews of PDF-XChange Editor. I downloaded the free version and was quite impressed. Just to ensure I had the best OCR 'engine', I purchased the mid-level version. I am very pleased! I can scan directly from the application, and then run OCR as my scanner skews pages a bit.

As with any new application, there are new menu options, etc., but I am able to search for desired functions without difficulty. In addition to scanning, I often merge files or delete pages, and these are supported.

I highly recommend this product.

I wish I had purchased PDF-XChange Pro years ago because this software has exceeded my expectations with its top-notch OCR functionality and user-friendly interface. Adding comments and annotations to documents is a breeze. With its wide range of features, PDF-XChange Pro makes it easy to create, edit, and convert PDFs. It has proven to be a powerful and reliable solution for all my PDF needs. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comprehensive PDF tool.

I can't live without this program. We are a small construction/design firm and this program is the most functional PDF editing program I have ever found.

The dimensioning, scaling and commenting is unrivaled. Trust me, I've tried the other ones. It's on every machine and is the one program I gladly pay for every time.

Here is how die hard we are on PDF-Xchange PRO - we won't switch to mac airs in the field just because of this program.

I love PDF-XChange. I deployed it at the office, and the staff loved it too. It actually replaced a more expensive solution, which did measurements on PDF drawings for the Estimating department and saved thousands of dollars in licensing. For staff in other departments, it is also a better, and much more fairly priced, solution than anything else available. Whenever I see someone using another PDF product, I suggest PDF-XChange and they are much happier. Kinda funny too; when friends say they can't do xxx task because it's a PDF, and I end up doing it for them, they think I'm a magician. Plus it just works, without all the annoying on-line screen-stealing crap that Adobe forces down your throat. Another plus is they do some of the development in Canada.

I wish they'd develop a mobile app!

The full-screen file open and save dialogue boxes annoy me a tiny bit (but, unfortunately, this seems to the GUI trend of the day in other apps too) and it can take a while to find items in the menu but no other negatives come to mind.

Super easy, super intuitive, there's almost nothing this software can't do. It's a Must :)

PDF XChange Editor is as good as Adobe Acrobat Pro if not better! I am still getting use to the many other features and functions of the software.

I'll be honest. I've always looked for a valid alternative to Adobe Acrobat. And I've tried a lot of products.
I've also read many reviews, and I've always found out that many are fake.
Then, I started to try by myself a considerable number of applications.
In the end, I've understood that not only is PDF-XChange Pro the best valid alternative to Adobe, but I think it's so configurable that now I'm sure Adobe is not the best.
Adobe is one of the groups of apps that can manage PDF files.
To be short, I have to adapt to a new interface, but I work very fast for my things.
The only "drawback", if I can call it so, is the speed of OCR: other apps are a little faster. But that's ok.

So, if you are looking for a great app that lets you do literally what you want with PDF files, PDF-XChange Pro is a must.

Some of the devoted users of PDF-XChange are convinced that this is the best PDF editor there is. Others swear by the features for the price. My experience was good, however there was nothing mind blowing. But maybe that’s the point. While nothing stood out as incredible, there was also nothing that stood out as annoying or in the way. Nothing was missing nor was anything confusing or frustrating. PDF editors and that line of work can be frustrating as it is, with enough complication. So, by having a system that is easy to use and simple with understandable processes to edit and modify a given document or project, is PDF-XChange ahead of the curve?

I was impressed that even with the amount of PDF editing I do, I did not have to switch to another program. That says a lot to me. I did not have to jump to one I was more familiar with just to get my work done. So in that sense as well, this is a huge positive.

I think this is a great product that has the ability to be your one and only PDF-Editor without any compromise.

Buongiorno, perdonate se scrivo in italiano ma non conosco l'inglese. Ci tenevo a testimoniare che uso Pdf XChange Editor da un anno e ne sono pienamente soddisfatta. È un alleato indispensabile, grazie a questa applicazione ho risolto il problema dell'archivio di pratiche infinite: registri contabili, registro unico del lavoro, anagrafiche dipendenti, inventario dei beni patrimoniali... tutto ordinatamente conservato in tanti file modificabili. La possibilità di inserire note recuperabili con la funzione "cerca", di inserire segnalibri e rinominare, spostare le singole pagine mi permette di avere un archivio ordinato ed efficiente perché trovo l'informazione che mi serve in pochi secondi. Non potrei più farne a meno, lo consiglio vivamente.

Hallo zusammen, das Programm ist übersichtlich aufgebaut. Es arbeitet sehr schnell und sehr zuverlässig. Endlich mal ein Handbuch zu einem PDF-Programm, das klar verständlich ist und entsprechend umfangreich. Genauso wie die Einstellmöglichkeiten im Programm selbst. Die Fein-Tuning Möglichkeiten sind hervorragend, aber nicht "erschlagend", so dass man wirklich vernünftig arbeiten kann. Die Funktionsvielfalt ist erschreckend gut. Ich vermisse nichts. Hut ab. Verglichen mit den Programmen, mit denen ich vorher gearbeitet habe: Adobe zu teuer, oft zu ungenau, Abstürze und Ungereimtheiten (die Druck Ergebnisse waren nicht das, was eigentlich vom Bildschirm und von den Einstellungen her erwartet worden wäre). Bin dann aufgrund dieser Umstände zu einer Kombination aus Foxit PDF Editor und Readiris PDF 17 (und später 22) gekommen. Ich habe lange mit dieser Kombination gearbeitet. Readiris wurde hauptsächlich zum Komprimieren (iHQC erzeugt sehr gute Qualität, bei sehr geringer Größe) und Geradestellen benutzt. Die anderen Bearbeitungen mit Foxit. Der ständige Wechsel zwischen den beiden Programmen hat mich dazu erwogen, mir ein neues Programm zu suchen. Und ich habe einige, wirklich einige, ausprobiert. Aber ich muss sagen, an X-Change Pro kommt keiner ran. Und noch einmal - Kudos to you!

I can't believe it took me so long to discover this program! All those wasted years using my legal copies of v9 and v11 A-dope and not willing to buy another legal copy due to their price gouging. It always took me a long time to figure out how to do things in Adobe, but it never takes more than a few seconds in PDF-x. It's so much more logically laid out, and the help understands what I'm looking for without having to use specialist language. It's also easy to put the things you use the most right on the quick menu at the top of the screen. Not to mention it took all of a few seconds to define default fonts and formats for added text (something adobe doesn't even support as far as I can tell!) I also added my favorites to the Home menu (I crop and OCR scanned receipts and user manuals a lot.) The new OCR engine is sweet. I also used the convert to XLSX and got a spreadsheet that was actually in the proper columns and rows! Thanks, PDF-XChange!

Your products are beautifully programmed. The PDF-XChange Standard writer has a beautiful margin control feature, and, it doesn’t “slice” the photos and images. Very nice. Visual appearance of reports is the best. Everything is fantastic. And that includes your PDF-XChange Editor as well.

I have to confess... I use PDF-XChange Editor for a long time. And now I can enjoy a legally bought copy of it! Most of all I like how easily you can make small changes in most of the PDF files with no conversion back and forth. Sometimes I even use it as a simple vector graphics editor! Some days ago I tried OCR functionality. And to my big surprise, PDF-XChange Editor did it well despite the fact that the document was in Russian.

It Kicks Adobe Acrobat's ass!

PDF-XChange PRO is by far the best pdf viewing software I've used and I've used Adobe Acrobat PRO, Wondershare PDF Element PRO, Foxit PRO, PdfPro10, Soda PDF, EaseUS PDF, etc... I deal with large construction plan sets ranging anywhere from 300 to 2,500 pages of floor plans, specs, elevations & site plans. The site plans are usually really big and have a lot of layers and details on them and most pdf viewers will freeze and or crash. PDF-XChange PRO will view them with ease. There are some that will lug it out for a second or two but that is long after all the other pdf programs have crashed.

This is truly an amazing software especially for people working with large pdfs with thousands of layers, notes & tables that haven't been flattened.

I’m the partner assigned to IT at our small law firm (less than 10 attorneys).

We have used PDF-Xchange for several years. I switched to PDF-Xchange after trying out 10+ different alternative to Adobe Acrobat, including Foxit Phantom, Nitro Pro, and Nuance Power PDF. PDF-Xchange has the great balance of a fair price, relative ease of use, and speed (even on slower or older computers). The OCR has been improved and is, in my opinion, on par with Adobe Acrobat (a bit less than pure OCR software, but I don’t need perfect in that area) and is fairly fast. The company supports the software and user suggestions are often implemented.

Give the software a try; it’s worth your time.

For legal users, does bates stamping and redacting like a champ and handles very large pdfs (I do trial work....) without an issue.

I've used Tracker Software's PDF-XChange products for over seven years and they do a superb job of handling and editing my PDF files. The PDF-XChange Editor is powerful, intuitive, easy to learn and use, and has an excellent and detailed User Manual. Best of all, it has allowed me to get rid of that user-snarly Adobe bloatware from our computers.

Also, I've said this to many people over the years and it still holds true: I've owned and worked with computers since 1985 and Tracker Software has far and away the best customer support of any of the countless IT-related companies I've ever dealt with, bar none. Instead of days or weeks, an email question to Tracker's customer support is normally answered in hours - frequently in only minutes - and the answers are always clear and informative. In my experience Tracker's customer service is absolutely the best in the industry!

Thanks for a first-class product and for being such a pleasure to deal with over the years. I'll continue to highly recommend Tracker Software's products every chance I get.

Honestly, I am impressed on how much development and improvement on UI. I had PDF Exchange Viewer 2012 and the new features are 1.000 times better. I congratulare your team for such an effort to excel on a winner product. You should feel proud of your team effort.

You may think this is wind-up but I just bought a licence for PDF-XChange Editor and I have to tell you that this application is incredible. I have to tell you that PDF-XChange Editor is BY FAR the best PDF viewer editor I have ever used, and I've been looking for a viable, fast, no nonsense alternative to Acrobat for decades. It actually make's PDF's (including large CAD drawings and graphics heavy documents) a joy to use, which I never thought possible. It's features, ease of use and common sense, no nonsense design makes Adobe Acrobat look ridiculous.

To whoever designed this application, I just want to say BIG thank you; I've tried dozens of PDF applications over years and they all fall on their face, but PDF-XChange just delivers.

I’m a freelancer and my business is a big success thanks to PDF Xchange and all the good things it does for me.

I prepare books for publication, and PDF X is the software I always use to submit the books for printing. Why? Because all of the online platforms and printers always accept my PDF-X PDFs for printing, never telling me something isn’t right, whether it’s the book’s interior, book covers that I create, or both. They tell me—great job—and never find fault with the PDFs. When I used Adobe Acrobat’s PDFs or Word’s PDF versions for book and/or cover submissions, there always were problems with those PDFs—resolution, color—one thing or another. I also create forms for customers, and I use PDF X to help me with software conversions of all types.

Whenever I get into one of my messes, PDF X’s tech support team is always there to quickly help me through it and ALWAYS has a solution for me. If a customer wants something special and I don’t know if or how it can be done, I go to PDF X’s support team. They always have an answer, and they are ALWAYS quick to answer.

Is it any wonder I love PDF X so much?

This is the best software I have ever used. It's stable smooth and polished. The PDF editing functions I am using -- combining files for Exhibits and Bates-stamping for legal papers -- have been flawless. The interface is brilliant -- intiutive and bullet proof so far. Great substitute for Adobe Acrobat. I've been using the free version of PDF-XChange for more than 3 years (maybe 5?) and finally made the plunge to buy the full version to give me better control over the PDF documents I've been creating at home. I have no doubt that I made the correct decision and as a point of reference I've used Adobe Acrobat at my jobs over the past 18 years. I think I've read all the published reviews for Adobe Acrobat substitutes over the years I've been using the free version and always circled back to PDF-XChange Editor. Give this software a try with the free version; you won't be sorry. You'll find it to meet all your PDF needs and like me finally break down and purchase the full version to do more.

PDF-XChange Pro is arguably the best pdf software suite there is, and has been so for a long time. Furthermore, is see this as a tradition continuing into the future. Just about anything you wish to do with a pdf file, Tracker PDF-XChange Pro can do it and more. I have been using Tracker PDF-XChange Pro for a number of years. I started with shareware and freeware, but features convinced me to grab the commercial version. I have had no regrets. As a researcher, I dealt with pdf files everyday and did pdfing every week. I needed the best. PDF-XChange Pro is the best. Whether it is disassembling or rearranging, extracting, reorienting, inserting or simply highlighting text, whatever the manipulation is to be done with a pdf file, PDF-XChange Pro makes it look like a cakewalk. I especially love the pdf printer because it prints every sort of file type I have thrown at it, regardless of the size too. I highly recommend this software.

This is a fantastic product at any price, but especially amazing considering the low cost as compared to other similar functioning pdf editors. The interface is clean, pretty and easy to use. It is extremely intuitive and has virtually no learning curve. It fit a very specific niche for me (I needed a fully functional pdf editor that could operate without limitations within an Internet Explorer extension) and did so brilliantly, but even as a stand alone product it is head and shoulders above the rest (and I tried them all). I am particularly impressed with the thoughtfulness that is evident in the design of the interface. Even Acrobat is not as well thought out or intuitive. To put it simply, it just works! I have put it through it’s paces and nothing, including Acrobat Pro DC, can keep up and do what I needed to do. I cannot remember being this satisfied with a software purchase in my life (no hyperbole). I am work in health care and I could only wish that any of the EMR applications I’ve had to work with over the years was as well-programmed, thoughtful and intuitive and this powerful little product. Job very well done!

I have to say, given a short learning curve, this is one of the best PDF programs out there today. The price is well within reach of most, yet the features were superior to other more expensive programs I've had trials with. I no longer feel excluded from that elusive Adobe Acrobat club.
Going forward it will replace all my MS Word and Google Docs as my standard document creator, given the overall acceptability, features and reduced size of the pdf files. (optimized)

I have been using the free version of PDF-XChange Editor for years and felt it was time to contribute. I purchased the PDF-XChange Pro, which includes the Tools and Editor with a couple of years of maintenance, which will keep me updated. I create many PDF reports and have refused to buy Acrobat because of the subscription that goes with it. PDF-XChange Pro does everything I need, from creating forms to editing PDFs. A great piece of software that I highly recommend, especially if you are looking for an alternative to lengthy and expensive subscription plans. I hope that the good people at Tracker continue providing great software for another 27 years!

Pros: The interface is so easy to use - much easier than Acrobat! The menus are more easily customized, and functionality seems much easier to find. The "Add Text" feature is my favorite. It's so much easier to pinpoint exactly where I want to insert the text and then to adjust it to where I want it to be. And it is also easier to adjust the size, typeface, etc. It's so intuitive, and I like the interface better than any of its competitors. Best of all, it was so much more reasonably priced! In my office, three of us have the Tools package and one of us has the PRO package. We use it daily. I use it to prepare annotated reports for clients and redline drawings when we close out construction projects. It's so nice to have easily-manipulated tools! We've also just begun using the batch tools. I am a huge fan of this software!

Cons: The only thing I don't like about this software is that it does not have the ability to automatically detect fields when creating forms. The Tracker Software team has promised in the forums that it's on their list of things to implement, but has not given a definite date for this to happen. When it does, this software is going to be PERFECT.

Overall: It was a replacement for Adobe Acrobat 9 that I previously used. I didn't want to go to the subscription-based software, and I actually ended up LOVING this software much better than I ever did with Acrobat. And that's saying a lot - I was a very brand-loyal Adobe user!

I have paid outrageous amounts of money over the years on the purchase price and upgrades from Acrobat 6 through to XI. Acrobat XI was the killer. Locked toolbars and unable to adjust to high resolution screens. The final straw was ending support in October, 2017, and encouraging people, once again, to pay substantial amounts of money for Acrobat DC. Setting aside the requirement that I would have to keep a door open to their cloud, the DC UI was a geek nightmare. Once again, locked, and a design that looked more like the kind of web page that scares you off before you fully load. I have put PDF-XChange through its paces and am well pleased. Much of the work that I do involves rather bad scans of academic journals and your OCR has come through with very few errors. The interface is clean and well designed and even though I am a classic UI kind of guy your ribbons are tempting and I may well migrate. Finally, I appreciate that you have a Canadian base just up the coast from my family in Victoria. Nicely done!

I'm using the licensed version for some years now, after using the free version for a while. Back then the Adobe products were solely read-only (no editing at all) and Tracker's version was giving full editing (save for forms) for about 30 bucks, which was dirt-cheap, but if you shell out a bit of money you can edit the text in a PDF (quite useful sometimes), summarize comments, create and/or edit forms. Not every Joe Average needs this functions, but if you need them, then Tracker's solution is giving you the best bang for the buck . I also had several instances when I contacted support and got always competent and rapid responses; sometimes I discovered bug(s), sometimes I oversaw something. Highly recommended both as software and as support experience.

I am a writer here in Vancouver BC Canada. I need a flexible PDF Program that offers many options. The demands put onto me limit any waste of time. So, various PDF/OCR Programs were tested over 8-months, four were kept right until I made a decision. These were all well known programs. The one I decided upon without hesitation was PDF-XChange Pro. Let me be clear, money was not the deciding factor, it was overall operational ease of use with well thought out features built in. I still use Adobe on my other server, but my clear favorite is PDF-XChange Pro. The Team that put this together deserves to be given the highest ratings.

I checked out the PDF-XChange Editor and purchased it. It was faster than the Foxit Reader and has highlighting of the search terms. It is just the software I need! It enables me to be more effective in evaluating the many PDF research papers I have in my digital library (over 10,000). It has more commenting features and a better and faster file search (with context of line, paragraph, etc.) than Adobe Acrobat. Plus all the other features. I had been using Acrobat for years but not all that happy with the 'feel' of the new DC version. The 'kindergarten' style is not for me
